  OUR Management Team  

The GVLAS Management Team are volunteer professionals from a wide range of fields and backgrounds who share a common goal to give back to the community and help the school reach the highest standards of teaching and learning for the betterment of young people in the local multicultural community. 

 

The role of the Management Team at GVLAS is to enable the teachers to provide a high standard of teaching and learning, to foster good channels of communication between the school students, parents, the wider community and alumni, and to bring the school's vision to life. 

 

Mrs Vandana Gupta

School Principal

 

Mrs Gupta is the Principal of GVLAS and one of the founding teachers. She has a Master of Sanskrit and teaches HSC-level Hindi, and has helped many students achieve outstanding results.

She has a wealth of knowledge and many years of experience in teaching and learning. Mrs Gupta is pleased to see more of today’s youth taking an interest in learning their root language and promoting Hindi language and arts.

Mr Sunil Kumar

School Manager

 

Sunil has been the School Manager since the school’s inception in 1994, as well as having been a SRCA member since 1991. He is the Director and Senior Communications Engineer for ZML Services Pty Ltd, a NEC dealer, and has over 30 years of significant experience in the communications and data industry. In his work, He brings a wealth of project management experience to GVLAS, where he works to help make the school the best it can be.

 

His goal is to improve the recognition of Hindi education in Australia through the Department of Education and keep our Hindu cultural values. He is driven by a desire to help younger generations learn to love Hindi matr bhasha and improving the means for younger generations to broaden their knowledge of the Hindi language. He also liaises with the wider community and assists the school with sponsorship.

Mr Shalen Jattan 

School CEO and Community Liaison Officer

 

Shalen has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Green Valley Language School since 2001, and is responsible for the customer focused quality of services provided by the school. Shalen helps set the vision and objectives for the school and works closely with the Hindi community, teachers and Department to drive the development and delivery of learning solutions for the community.

He has over twenty five years of product marketing, management and business transformation experience. Shalen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from UTS, a MBA in Business Administration from Australian Institute of Management and a PhD in Business Administration and Statistics. He is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from SBTI in Texas USA.

Mr Ami Chand

School President

 

Ami is committed to inspiring, engaging and helping children and others to make a positive and productive difference in their lives. He has been the President of GVLAS for the past 20 years, and is driven by a desire to engage himself in meaningful local cultural events that bring together all ages in the community to celebrate cultures, both individually and together in multiculturalism.

 

He has been engaged in business communications for the past 37 years, and currently works as a Senior Solutions Engineer at Quantum Exchange.

Mr Mukesh Chand

Treasurer

 

Mukesh is a Site Operations Manager at Ligare, a print and finishing company. He has been a part of GVLAS since it's opening in 1994. Mukesh has been the treasurer for 13 years and enjoys doing community service, giving back to our society. 

Mukesh is motivated to ensure that our Hindu culture and tradition survives and is passed onto generations to come. In a society where there is a lot of western influence, it is important to keep a balance between culture and lifestyle. This has inspired Mukesh to give back to the community by this voluntary service and see children grow, learn and give back. In 1994, there were only about 5 students, and we now have approximately 110 students. This is a proud achievement knowing that our school is growing and providing this quality service to the community is very satisfying.

Mrs Sashi Kumar

General Committee Member

Sashi has been a dedicated member of the school community since 2007. She works as a business and accounts administrator in her family accounting practice and holds over twenty years of student administration experience within several universities. She studied for her Bachelor of Arts at the University of the South Pacific and later completed her Master of Arts at Sydney University.

 

She is an active member of Parents Committee at GVLAS and has enjoyed her involvement with this for a number of years. She holds the children’s welfare at her heart. Her two sons have been attending this school since 2008. Sashi is spiritual in her conduct, has a passion for music and singing and loves socialising with people.

Mr Victor Kumar

General Committee Member

Victor is a highly experienced professional in the property investment field, a sought-after public speaker and mentor in his field, as well as a qualified radiographer and sonographer. Victor is the CEO of Right Property Group, the second largest company of its kind in Australia, and also the CEO of Right Property Management, a specialist property management only business located in several locations in NSW and QLD. Recently, he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors, and became a shareholder of Ronin Financial Services, a specialist financial planning company based in Parramatta. He also enjoys playing soccer at a competition level and drinking coffee.

Mr Satendra Kumar

Internal Auditor

 

Satendra is a CPA-certified accountant, a registered tax agent, and a registered SMSF auditor and who is actively involved in the accounting field. He has been involved in the GVLAS Management Team and Parent and Teachers Committee for over five years, and provides his accounting and auditing services to non-profit organisations in his community in a volunteer capacity.

 

He is driven to share his skills, experience, ideas and ethics as a professional to help his community, and to keep Hindi language and culture alive in the younger generations and in generations yet to come.
